Just a few weeks into our Clay Hands Showdown, and the creative energy in our studio is absolutely infectious! Our potters have been diving deep into their tea ceremony projects, and the results are exceeding all expectations.
Hand-Built Wonders
The hand-building side has become a delightful showcase of imagination unleashed. Our teapot gallery now features everything from elegant minimalist forms to wildly decorative creations.

We've got a whimsical fish-shaped teapot, a turtle, a stunning desert sand-inspired piece complete and even an architectural marvel in the form of a house teapot, complete with windows and a chimney!

The variety is blowing us away! Some students explore clean, contemporary lines while others embrace maximum decoration with carved patterns and applied elements that promise to be stunning once glazed. As the teachers, we’re loving watching the drama unfold!

Wheel-Thrown Precision
On the throwing side, our milk and sugar set creators have been mastering the art of creating harmonious pairs. Students have moved from milk jugs to sugar pots, focusing on achieving perfect pouring lips and balanced proportions.

The trimming and handle-pulling sessions have been particularly engaging. Some opt for delicate ribbon handles, others choose robust, comfortable grips. Watching students discover how the right foot can transform a piece's visual weight has been wonderful.

One month to go potters! We need everything glazed by the end of term 🔥
