Clay Circle

For independent making

"like hot desking for potters"

" The clay circle is such a wonderful and welcoming space where you have the freedom to play and create in your own way. It feels like having your own pottery studio without the burning a hole in your bank account."

Clay Circle is designed for makers who’ve completed a foundation course (or equivalent) and want to continue building at their own rhythm - surrounded by community, music, and the quiet hum of making.

Whether you hand-build, throw on the wheel, or a bit of both, Clay Circle offers flexible access to the studio, plus all the good stuff that keeps the creative flow alive.

STUDIO ACCESS

Flexible hours, fair use

Come and go as it suits you within the hours of your chosen package. This space is seperate to our teaching wing.

Shared studio, your own shelf

Our studio is shared, with bays available on a first-come, first-served basis unless you’ve booked a Full Circle membership. Each member still has their own shelf and cubby to store work, tools, and clay.

Small and focused

With five bays, we keep it cozy — a maximum of five makers can work at once, ensuring space to move, create, and focus.

Each member has:

  • Their own shelf to store work and tools

  •  A work bay with a designated hand building table and wheel

  • Access to shared dip glazes and firing services

  • Use of communal tools

  • Coffee, tea, and the occasional biscuit on the house :)

Loving the new space! Perfect place to unwind after a long day at work and have fun.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Clay Circle sessions taught classes?

No, sessions are for independent making. Members work at their own pace, exploring hand building, wheel throwing, and glazing within the studio. If you need a class check here.

Do I need an induction?

Yes, all members complete a short studio induction before their first session. This helps you get oriented, find your shelf, and understand the studio systems so everyone can work smoothly together.

How are fees billed?

Membership fees are billed monthly. The first payment is due before your start date, and ongoing payments are due on the 1st of each month.

Can I carry over unused hours?

No, unused hours don’t carry over. We encourage you to make the most of your studio time each month.

Is there a teacher on duty?
Nope, this is an independent maker space. The Clay Hands team will be around and we can help with quick questions but this is not a tutored time. For that, join a class or workshop

What if I need some guidance?
From 2026 you can book a Private Session with Tash for more focused support... email to find out more
