Weekly classes

Regular morning and evening classes offered on a term basis of about 10 weeks per term. 4 terms in a year. Taught by Tash and Mich

Beginners joining classes are guided along a starter programme to familiarise them with some of the basics of clay, such as: pinching, coiling, slab-work and greenware decoration (don’t worry, you’ll learn the lingo as we go). With time students can progress to throwing on the wheel.

More advanced students are offered creative freedom and project guidance

Join our waiting list to keep up to date with
future classes. Use the form below and we’ll be in touch as soon as a spot opens up for you.

In the mean time check out which one-off workshops are on offer if you want to get claying.

Class schedule 2019

Monday evening: 19h00 - 21h30
Wednesday morning: 10h00 - 12h30
Wednesday evening: 19h00 - 21h30
Thursday morning: 10h00 - 12h30
Thursday evening: 19h00 - 21h30

Term dates

1: 14 Jan - 28 March (11 weeks)
2: 8 April - 20 June (11 weeks)
3: 29 July - 26 September (9 weeks)
4: 7 October - 12 December (10 weeks)

Students commit to coming to a class once a week on their chosen day and can make up two lessons per term in one of the other classes. This commitment is important because it builds a sense of community within the class and the whole studio flourishes from this, and the craft requires regular input and practice.

Signing up

Waiting List sign up form

There’s a demand for the weekly classes so we’ve established a waiting list. To be added to the list, and receive news about opening space please fill in the form by clicking on the button here ‘waiting list sign up form’.

Please note that by filling out the form you are signing up for the waiting list and not signing up for the classes, yet.

In the mean time you can get your hands into some clay by watching out for upcoming workshops or joining a short course

The fee covers basically everything; the cost of your clay, glazes, underglaze and slip paints and firing of your items. There’s a once-off sign up fee payable when you first enrol with the studio. We’re bringing this fee down from R250 to only R50 to help ease the strain on your pocket (cos eish the pinch is real). The sign up fee covers the administration of enroling you as well as notes and a notebook. Be in touch if you want to check in about fees

We also want to make sure that the studio remains accessible. If you really want to clay, you should be able to. We offer payment plans, student discounts and exchanges. Be in touch with Natasha to chat about this
