Term 2, 2025 – Monday Evening Pottery 📅 7 April – 16 June (9 sessions due to public holiday) ⏰ Mondays, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM 🏺 R4185 or pay in 2 instalments of R2220 Our welcoming, community-centered studio is a space to explore your passion for pottery while building meaningful connections. Whether you're a curious beginner or a seasoned clay enthusiast, our mixed-level classes offer the perfect environment to grow your skills. With expert guidance, you can explore both hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques. Join Val on Monday evenings for an inspiring session. ✨ What’s Included: • Move freely between hand-building and the wheel • 10 spaces at the hand-building table, 8 wheels available • All-inclusive fee covering firing, underglazes & access to our dip-glaze library • 90cm private shelf for work-in-progress • 5kg of clay per term (extra available at a student discount) 📌 Important Notes: No class on 21 & 28 April due to public holidays. Class will be held on Monday, 16 June (public holiday)—if you can’t make it, book a catch-up class. Beginners: We recommend starting with 4 hand-building lessons before trying the wheel. 🏺 Class Flow & Demos (7:00–7:30 PM): Lessons evolve with the group, but here’s a general guide: 1️⃣ Welcome, wedging demo, pinch pots 2️⃣ Joining pinch pots to make a vase 3️⃣ Coiling techniques 4️⃣ Slab-built vessels 5️⃣ Throwing cylinders on the wheel 6️⃣ Glazing & trimming cylinders 7️⃣ Throwing bowl forms (advanced: wider forms) 8️⃣ Greenware decorating & glazing 9️⃣ Final glazing 🔟 End-of-term festivities! 📢 Studio Guidelines: • Respect & Creativity: A safe, non-judgmental space to explore, learn & play. • Catch-ups: Must be scheduled within the term—please give 24 hours' notice if you’re missing a class so we can offer your spot to someone else. • Storage: Items are kept for 2 months after you leave. • Refunds: No refunds within 5 business days of term start unless we fill your spot. • Parking & Security: Roger, our friendly security guard, will help you park on Victoria Road and walk you to/from your car. Cancellation Policy
• If notice of cancellation is received more than 5 days before the workshop, class, or course, your fee will be refunded less a 10% cancellation fee. • Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made less than 4 business days before the program begins, unless the space can be filled. • No refund is issued if you cancel or do not show up on the start date. • In the event of illness or emergency, you’re welcome to send someone in your place. Please email their name and contact details to info@clayhands.co.za before the session. • Clay Hands reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop, class, or course due to low enrolment or unforeseen circumstances. Should this happen, you’ll be notified by email or phone at least 4 business days in advance and receive a full refund.
