Our community-centered studio provides an environment to nurture your interest in pottery while forging lasting connections. Join a mixed-level pottery class for curious beginners and experienced clay enthusiasts alike. We offer hand building and wheel work, taught by an experienced facilitator. Thursday evening is with Umi. • Term 1 2025: Thursdays 23 January -27 March (10 sessions) | 6:00pm - 9:00pm • > Arrive & set up from 6pm > Move freely between hand building and wheel work > 10 spaces around hand building table and 8 wheels available > Fee all inclusive of firing + paints + extensive dip glaze library + studio time > Students are all given a 90cm wide private shelf for storing works in progress and 5kgs of clay per term Beginners are encouraged to spend the first 4 lessons of term doing hand building before trying the wheel out. Demos are 7-7:30 each class Example of what we might teach (optional to join, it can vary depending on the group): Class 1 Welcome, wedging demo, pinch pots Class 2 Joining pinch pots to make a vase Class 3 Coiling Class 4 Slab rolled vessels Class 5 Throwing a cylinder on the wheel Class 6 Glazing and Trimming a cylinder Class 7 Throwing bowl forms (wider forms for more advanced) Class 8 Greenware decorating techniques and glazing Class 9 Agateware Class 10 Glazing & end of term festivities •••• PLEASE READ: • The Clay Hands studio is a safe, respectful, non-judgemental creative space to support the innate creativity within us while learning a new skill and playing freely. • Dates and catch-ups: Catch-up classes cannot be carried over to following terms, please arrange timeously and give us at least 24hours notice when missing a class so that we can fill someone else in to your spot. Please check dates carefully. • Items made in the classes will be stored in the studio for only 2 months after student leaves the studio. • Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received less than 5 business days before the term begins unless that space can be filled. Please read our policies page carefully. • Parking and security: Roger, our amazing security guard, will help you find parking on Victoria Road or surrounding streets and will walk you to and from the car.

Cancellation Policy
Enrollment in workshops, classes and courses is limited. • If notice of cancellation is received more than 5 days before the workshop/class/course the fee will be refunded • Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received less than 4 business days before the program begins unless that space can be filled. NO REFUND is issued in the event you cancel or do not show up on the start date. • In the event of emergency/illness, send an alternative person in your place. mail us the name and email address of that person. Alternatively, if notice is given and there is a person on a waiting list that can fill your space a full refund will be given. • Classes, courses and series requires a weekly commitment for a number of consecutive weeks. Catch-ups cannot be accommodated for foundation courses as too much will be missed out. Check dates carefully. • Clay Hands reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop/class/course due to low enrolment or other unforeseen circumstances.
