Term 2, 2025 – Wheel Throwing Foundations Course 📅 8 April – 17 June (10 sessions) ⏰ Tuesdays, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Embark on a journey into the art of the potter’s wheel with our comprehensive 10-week foundations course. This structured, step-by-step program is designed exclusively for beginners, offering dedicated wheel practice with expert guidance. Through hands-on learning and personalized feedback, you'll develop the confidence and skills needed to create beautiful, functional pottery on the wheel Under the guidance of Valeria, you'll learn essential techniques, including: • Wedging and centering clay on the wheel • Throwing and trimming cylinders (the foundation of wheel work) • Shaping bowl forms and wider vessels • Pulling and attaching handles for mugs and jugs • Collaring and bellying out to create beautiful vase shapes • Glazing and finishing techniques to bring your pieces to life ✨ What’s Included: • A dedicated wheel for each student in a small group of 8 • 10 weeks of intensive instruction and hands-on practice • Inclusive fee covering clay, firing, underglazes & access to our dip-glaze library • A private shelf for storing work-in-progress • 5kg of clay provided per term (extra available at a student discount) 📌 Important Notes: • This is a structured foundations course—students are encouraged to attend all sessions to build skills progressively. • One catch-up class is offered if you miss a session. • Suitable for complete beginners—no prior experience needed. • Due to multiple public holidays, the studio will be closed from 28 April – 2 May. • There will be no class on 29 April, but the term will still include 10 sessions. 📢 Studio Guidelines: • Respect & Creativity: A safe, non-judgmental space to explore, learn & play. • Catch-ups: Must be scheduled within the term—please give 24 hours' notice if you’re missing a class so we can offer your spot to someone else. • Storage: Items are kept for 2 months after you leave. • Refunds: No refunds within 5 business days of term start unless we fill your spot. • Parking & Security: Roger, our friendly security guard, will help you park on Victoria Road and walk you to/from your car. Cancellation Policy

Enrollment in workshops, classes and courses is limited. • If notice of cancellation is received more than 5 days before the workshop/class/course the fee will be refunded • Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received less than 4 business days before the program begins unless that space can be filled. NO REFUND is issued in the event you cancel or do not show up on the start date. • In the event of emergency/illness, send an alternative person in your place. mail us the name and email address of that person. Alternatively, if notice is given and there is a person on a waiting list that can fill your space a full refund will be given. • Classes, courses and series requires a weekly commitment for a number of consecutive weeks. Catch-ups cannot be accommodated for foundation courses as too much will be missed out. Check dates carefully. • Clay Hands reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop/class/course due to low enrolment or other unforeseen circumstances.
