Date: Wednesday, 2 July 2025 Time: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Instructor: Valeria Cost: R600 Join us for an evening of creative exploration as you learn the ancient Japanese technique of kurinuki - the "hollowing out" method of creating pottery. In this hands-on workshop, you'll carve and sculpt striking vessels from solid blocks of black clay, revealing unique textures and organic forms. Perfect for beginners and experienced ceramicists alike, this workshop offers a meditative approach to pottery that embraces wabi-sabi aesthetics and celebrates imperfection. All materials are provided. Valeria will be your guide and will give a step-by-step demonstration of the 'kurinuki' method. All levels of clay experience welcome (beginner friendly). All materials provided. Tea/coffee and light refreshments served. Items glazed and fired for you, ready for collection 6 weeks later.

Cancellation Policy
Enrollment in workshops, classes and courses is limited. • If notice of cancellation is received more than 5 days before the workshop/class/course the fee will be refunded • Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received less than 4 business days before the program begins unless that space can be filled. NO REFUND is issued in the event you cancel or do not show up on the start date. • In the event of emergency/illness, send an alternative person in your place. mail us the name and email address of that person. Alternatively, if notice is given and there is a person on a waiting list that can fill your space a full refund will be given. • Classes, courses and series requires a weekly commitment for a number of consecutive weeks. Catch-ups cannot be accommodated for foundation courses as too much will be missed out. Check dates carefully. • Clay Hands reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop/class/course due to low enrolment or other unforeseen circumstances.
